Overview

Excellent human resources in agriculture are an important target in development. Farmers, as the main actors in agriculture, are required to have adequate competence in order to be able to produce quality agricultural products. In addition, to improve the quality of farming families’ life, these agricultural business actors must develop their businesses by increasing the capacity of entrepreneurship in agriculture, which is supported by the ability to organize and cooperate with related stakeholders. Efforts to create adequate agricultural human resources require an adequate knowledge and information system with excellent service for the agricultural sector’s main actors and business actors. Through the mechanism of non-formal education systematically and sustainably, efforts are made to transfer technology in agriculture, extension education and empowerment, and other social transformations, to strengthen the capacity of main actors and business actors in agriculture. Graduates of agricultural extension and communication are produced to take a proportional role in becoming change agents in supporting the creation of dignity in human resources agriculture who can manage the potentials of existing natural resources in a responsible and sustainable way.
