Student’s creative ideas have sometimes only been stored without the opportunity to become activities that support the continuity of the nation’s educational development. MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) is here to bring up a new paradigm in the process of building the nation’s education. To encourage the acceleration of study programs to implement MBKM according to the characteristics and competencies of their students, UNS holds an Hibah MBKM program with a guarantee of recognition so that student’s creative ideas in carrying out MBKM activities can be well accommodated. In this program, students can choose eight MBKM programs offered by the ministry, where students are given the opportunity to attend lectures outside the study program for one semester or the equivalent of 20 credits.

After going through the Hibah MBKM UNS selection process and passing with a student proposal entitled “Dissemination of Agricultural Development through Print and Online Media at Solopos Media Group”. We officially carried out the MBKM grant internship at Solopos Media Group which was held from February 6, 2024 to July 6, 2024. Solopos Media Group (SMG) or better known as Solopos is a media company founded by PT Aksara Solopos in Surakarta under the auspices of the Bisnis Indonesia Group company. The main line of this company is mass media.

In this internship activity, students must follow In House Training (IHT) for 1 week with various assignments given to be able to become a responsible intern. IHT is filled with training with material on the division of work that will be placed, including how to be a good journalist, journalistic code of ethics, reportage, journalistic language, video shooting techniques, broadcasting, and how to edit videos.

Each student was placed in a different division, namely print media journalists (newspapers), solopos.com journalists (online media), barrel journalists (newspapers), content creators (social media), data analyzers (Solopos Institute), and marketing communication. The internship is carried out for 8 hours per day and is carried out 5 working days from Monday-Friday.
